MONCTON, N.B. – The Greater Moncton International Airport Authority was pleased to welcome the first PASCAN Aviation direct flight today between Greater Moncton and St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador. PASCAN announced the new flight exactly one month ago during a special event attended by local dignitaries that was held at the Greater Moncton International Airport on September 10.
Today’s first direct flight departed at 7 a.m. with local dignitaries, business leaders and media on board. They will return this evening on the 6 p.m. (NL time) direct flight to Greater Moncton.
Beginning today, daily return direct flights from Greater Moncton to St. John’s will take place from Monday to Friday leaving Moncton at 7 a.m. and returning from St. John’s at 6 p.m. (NL time). Flight time is approximately two hours each way.
PASCAN has also added a direct flight between Greater Moncton and Quebec City, leaving Greater Moncton on Fridays at 8:15 p.m. with a return direct flight from Quebec City leaving on Sundays at 6:15 p.m. (Eastern time). Flight time each way is approximately one hour and 15 minutes.
At the Greater Moncton Excellence Awards held on October 3, PASCAN also announced the launch of yet another direct flight out of the Greater Moncton International Airport – this time from Greater Moncton to the Îles de la Madeleine with direct flights leaving Greater Moncton daily from Sunday to Friday at 4:45 p.m. Direct flights from the Îles de Madeleine to Moncton leave at 6 p.m. daily from Sunday to Friday. Flight time is approximately 45 minutes each way.
